Pretty much finished buying stuff for baby! Today we went out and bought the last of the essentials I had on my list. Extra crib mattress pads, a cover for the change pad, baby mittens, a head support for the car seat, bottle accessories, petroleum jelly, and a mobile. The only things left on the list are a night light (I couldn't find any cute ones at Wal-Mart so it looks like I will probably be buying one off Etsy), a breast pump (that should be able to wait since I probably won't need it until dance starts again in September), and a few baby medicine cabinet essentials (gas drops, baby aspirin or tylenol or whatever, those kinds of things). There are also a few big items on the list like a diaper bag and a baby carrier, but I figure those things can wait a little longer as they are a little more expensive and require a bit more saving.
Of course, there are still plenty of nice-to-haves that I still want to buy before the baby gets here. I really need curtains for the nursery. Blinds alone won't do it as they only just barely cover the window and light still gets through. Also, I want to order those prints and the mobile from Etsy. I might do that this weekend. A rug would be nice to have, too. Those are the big things. After that, maybe just some other little pieces of decor and some infant toys, but those can definitely wait until closer to when he is due, or even after he arrives.
It is nice to have almost everything bought and ready for baby, but at the same time it is kind of making me sad. I almost feel a little lost, like, "Ok, now what?" Not to mention having everything ready to go just makes me more anxious for him to finally get here...
However, just seven more weeks to go. Even though that feels like a lot sometimes, I know that it really isn't. Plenty left to do so I had better get at it!
