Materials

• size 5 yarn (I used Bernat's Pipsqueak)
• size 6.0 mm (US I) crochet hook
• tapestry or yarn needle

Gauge:

6 stitches and 5 rows = 2.25 in x 2.25 in

Size

1-3 years (approximately 17 inches)

(both hat and ears are worked in a spiral. No sl st or chains. Use a stitch marker to mark your first stitch and move it up each round)

Rnd 1: 7 HDC in magic circle (7)
Rnd 2: 2 hdc in each stitch around (14)
Rnd 3: *2 hdc in next stitch, 1 hdc in next - repeat from * around (21)
Rnd 4: *2 hdc in next stitch, 1 hdc in next 2 - repeat from * around (28)
Rnd 5: *2 hdc in next stitch, 1 hdc in next 3 -repeat from * around (35)
Rnd 6: *2 hdc in next stitch, 1 hdc in next 4 - repeat from * around (42)
Rnd 7-16: hdc in each stitch around (42)
Rnd 17: sc in each hdc around (42)

Weave in ends.

Ears
make two.
Rnd 1: 4 SC in magic circle (4)
