Here it is! :) My Floppy-Ear Bunny Hat! Designed by me, made by me. I'm so proud of this hat. It is so cute and turned out exactly how I was hoping.
I will admit that it did give me some problems. There was a bit of trial and error going on trying to make the ears match (I made the first ear without my pattern and the second one with it). But I think I got them pretty close. You can't tell the difference. Then I sewed the second ear on too low, had to rip up the stitches and redo it. But in the end, I think it turned out very well, if I do say so myself.
After all that hard work, my hands are aching, my shoulders are tense, and I used two balls of yarn to make just one hat (more like one and a half if I hadn't messed up on the ear). Despite this, I feel pretty good about my work. So good, in fact, that I'm going to share my pattern with you...
Tomorrow. :)
P.S. Yes, I used the candle as a model... It's the only thing I had available besides the dogs and for some reason I don't think they would have appreciated the opportunity to model my creations.
I am hoping to sell one or two of these hats for Easter. The weather is a bit warm for them here, but they would still be great for the Easter basket and look adorable in pictures. I was thinking that I could sell a few of them as a taster for the shop I am hoping to open in May. A sneak peek, if you will.
More info on this exciting new venture of mine tomorrow.
That is great. The droopy ears are bound to look adorable on the little dude. I'm impressed you created it all yourself, you should be proud of it! I'd imagine that kind of thing takes a lot of talent. :)
ReplyDeletetoo bad it's not for the little dude. I'm actually going to try to sell it.
